TIGER WOODS, MELO, AND THE DUKE

Well we have reached that deadspot in the sports season.  The NFL is over and baseball hasn’t started.  We are all waiting for March Madness to begin.  However, there are a few interesting story lines going on in the sports world.  Here is a look at a few of them.

NETS, KNICKS MAKE BIG MOVES…

I knew it was only a matter of time before Carmello Anthony ended up in a Knick uniform, but it comes as quite a surprise that the Nets were able to acquire Deron Williams from the Utah Jazz.  This means two of the best players in the NBA have been traded in [...]

We will now take a look at the top 10 shortstops.  There are 21 shortstops in the Hall of Fame so there are a lot to choose from, and that doesn’t even include the current players.   So with that here we go…

THE NBA IS AT THE ALL STAR BREAK AND WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED…

Well we are at the NBA All Star break and it appears the Heat won’t be breaking the Bulls record of 72 wins, not that I ever thought they would.  The Lakers are sleepwalking through the regular season and the Celtics look like the best team right now.  Let’s start with the Eastern [...]

GREEN BAY PACKERS WORLD CHAMPS AGAIN….

The Green Bay Packers are Super Bowl Champions again, for the 4th time in their storied history, and their first title since 1997.  Aaron Rodgers was named the MVP after throwing for 304 yards and 3 TD’s.  The Packers overcame a subpar performance by their receivers, who had 6 drops, and the loss [...]

SUPER BOWL XLV,HALL OF FAME, AND PHIL SIMMS, A REAL CLASS ACT…

Well we are finally here, Super Bowl Sunday.  I first want to congratulate Deion Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Richard Dent, Shannon Sharpe, Ed Sabol, Les Richter and Chris Hanburger.  All were deserving, but I was surprised that Curtis Martin didn’t get in.

NFL HALL OF FAME FINALISTS, AND WHO’S GETTING IN….

Who will get the call to Canton?       The NFL will announce this year’s class of Hall of Famers Saturday at 6:00.  Let’s take a look at the finalists and who should  get inducted.  The NFL rules dictate that four players must be inducted and no more than seven.   Running backs Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis and Marshall [...]
